What id do i need for will reading at notario in spain

What ID do I need to take to the notario in Spain to have the will read, it is ready for collection, mum died 7 weeks ago I have not got an N.I.E number yet is a passport enough or a driving license? Do I have to take proof of UK residency with me? I live UK mum owned a flat in Spain since 1972....

Welcome to our forum.

In order to go to collect the will at the Notary office, and identify yourself as inheritor, your passport will be enough.

At the time of possession of the inheritance, you will be liable to pay the due taxes ( inheritance tax ), and it will be then when you will need to get a NIE certificate ( Foreigner´s ID ).
