    Default can i change regimen communitario

    hello,

    i have permannet communitario family based 10yr residence card ,now divorced can i change my regimen to general;

    Hello Cheema,

    You do not need to modify your residence card as it is a permanent one. You only have to renew the card once it expires, but you won´t be asked to provide with proof of your links to the EU citizen any longer as you are a permanent resident. You can also consider the possibility to apply for Spanish nationality to avoid any possible problem, though I cannot forsee any.

    Modifications due to divorce are only requried in case the applicant is a temporary resident, not a permanent one like you.
