My Husband (spanish citizen) and I (British) (both previously divorced), got married in Miami 4 months ago. The marriage certificate was apostilled and sent to the Civil Registry Office in Madrid for it to be "inscrito" (this process could take some time). In the meantime my husband buys a house inMadrid. At the time of signing the deeds and having shown the appostilled marriage certificate to the notary, he says that my husbands status is "divorced" and that he could not include my name in the deed either because the marriage certificate had not been "inscrito". So in the deeds of the property he purchased, my husband appears as "divorced" and my name does not appear anywhere. I find this hard to believe!! So, even though we have a valid apostilled marriage certificate my husband is considered to be a divorced man in Spain, and I just don't exist? I can't helpbut think there is something wrong here. Can someone shed some light on this please? Thank you
