Fathers estate and money

My father passed away over a year ago. I was only informed a few weeks ago as my father and I lost contact due to his partner. Now I want to find out whether he had left me anything, at the moment I am unsure if he has a will or not. His partner refuses to help and there are no other family members I can contact. So I am wondering if there is any way in which I can found out if he had a will or not, or if I am entitled to anything.
