Just a little advice regarding Spainish Inheritance tax

I will be left a flat worth approx 80000 euros. I'm a friend of the lady, and have read that I would have to pay around 16000 inheritance tax. Both non-redisdents and I don't have any uk assets. Is around 16k a realistic figure?

Kathryn, it would depend where the property is based but the figure appears realistic, owing mostly to the fact that you are not family related and the percentages of tax in such cases are much higher.
