    Exclamation Marriage in irregular situation

    Hi,
I arrived in Spain illegally a month ago. My girlfriend is a Spanish citizen and we are planning to marry in Spain in one month time. But one of my friend told me, in order to get married in Spain I have to register my stay to the local authority a year before I can get married. Do I have to be registered with the local authority for at least a year before marrying?
Does anyone know about this issue. If yes please reply.
I appreciate your reply. Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

This will depend on the municipality you get married in. Some Civil Registries have this requirement whereas others don’t.
Some may just ask your fiancée to have been registered before whereas other might not even have this requirement. I recommend you to check with your nearest 'Registro Civil'.
