Can a Garage charge for storage?

Hi,

Is it legal for a Garage to charge storage on a car that is not collected?

In a case where a customer declines a repair but does not collect the car, what options would a Garage have? At home it is legal to store the car for as long as it takes for the storage charge to equal the value of the car then assume ownership of it. The same question would apply to a car with an unpaid bill.

If it is legal to do this, would this have to be contained in terms and conditions and would these terms and conditions need to be signed by a customer?
