Domestic Violence in Spain

I am doing some research in relation to current court proceedings and would be grateful to hear from anyone who has first hand knowledge of how the legal system in Spain (particularly Tenerife) treat domestic violence.

I am dealing with a case in the UK where a wife has accused the husband of DV. There has been no corroboration, but apparently a Restraining Order has been obtained against him ( he resides now in the UK).

I am curious to know whether a court will simply make such an order 'ex parte' or whether they woudl deal with the matter in a different way????
