Political asylum and resident card question

Hello,
I am an non EU National living in France, in France I have claimed Political Asylum. I have Spanish girlfriend and we are planing to get married.
My question is if I merry my Spanish girlfriend will I be able to get resident Permit in Spain? and can I apply for Spanish Citizenship after one year?
Or is there will be any problem because of my political asylum claim in France? thanks.

Hello Andrew,

Once you are married to a Spanish citizen and you both decide to settle in Spain, you become eligible for the residence card of relatives of EU citizens, that will allow you reside and work during 5 years. After that you will be eligible for the permanent residence card.

As you will be married to a Spanish citizen, you will also be eligible for the Spanish Nationality after having held the Spanish residence card during one year. The application will have to be filed at the closest Civil registry.
