Am I liable if I pull out of long term rental agreement before signing contract?

I wish to pull out of an arrangement to sign a long term rental. I am happy to lose the holding deposit, my bad...

Just want to check the landlord has no further claim under Spanish law, for example; based on email correspondence in anticipation of signing the contract?
