Hello

Myself and my husband have had a business in Spain for the last 5 and half years, we rented some commercial premises on a 5 year lease when we first started the business, the landlord gave us notice just before the 5 year lease was due to end and we quite happily left as we had found some other premises to operate from.
We had a problem with our landlord during the tenancy, in the terms and conditions of the contract we were liable to pay the community fees for the property, the landlord asked for payment for the community fees 6 months after we had moved in, which we paid up to date (although he never provided us with any documentary evidence for them) he then neglected to bill us for the next 4 years, the landlord was taken to court by the community association after 4 years for not paying his community fees, he at this time became very aggressive, our own gestor contacted the community association and obtained a balance of community fees that we paid immediately, and then carried on paying directly ourselves until we left. It is now 6 months since we vacated the premises and the landlord has contacted us again as he feels that we should pay all the legal fees he encountered for non-payment of the community fees, he is now threatening to take further action, again he has provided no documentary evidence of the legal fees, he just keeps saying that we owe him. Has he got a case against us? would rather sort this out now, than possibly go through lenghty legal proceedings.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Tell him that you want to examine the legal fees requested. Tell him to provide you with a copy of the legal fees of his lawyer.
