We have recently been contacted by someone who has said that they work on behalf of Reclaim. There seems to be alot of similarities to other messages I have read. Initially we were told that there had been an administrative error in the details provided to Reclaim but in the latest phone call we were told that we had been mislead and even referred to the Daily Mirror article detailing the charges made against Gary Leigh of Incentive Leisure Group. We have been advised that to prevent our claim being closed we should pay £250 to solicitors Fraser and Ward who will act on our behalf. However we will have to travel to Tenerife in the next 18 months where we will be given 90% of the claim value. I have tried to contact Reclaim to see if they are making such calls but have not been able to get through. The added threat that the claim will be closed has made us consider whether we should make the payment or not although we have serious doubts. Is this just another scam and does anyone know if Fraser and Ward are legitimate? Karen

Had a call from Fraser & Ward (Joane) on a Bnak Hol Monday with same offer fro £250 and trip to Teneriffe, they assumed this was our orginal time share.
Our first call was to DWVC who report that they are in dispute with the tactic employed by Fraser and Ward to entice us to another Tiomneshare sale. DWVC say our Reclaim certificate was still intact.

Dear Madam,

The name of this law firm/company does not ring the bell.

After doing some search the only company that comes up with that name is this one located in the Canary Islands:

http://fraserandward.com/index.html

I'm not sure if it's the same one you are referring to.

Their website was created on the 8th February 2010 although they actually have a copyright sign on their website from 2006:

Expiration Date: 08-feb-2011

It's impressive how in a short span of only one month they already have 4 positive testimonials to their credit:

http://fraserandward.com/testimonials.html

They only advertise themselves as a team of "advisers and consultants", not as lawyers or solicitors as you imply mistakenly on your post above.

As they claim to have an office in the UK in their "contact us section (http://fraserandward.com/contact.html)" besides those in Spain I'm confident that if they did employ solicitors these would be duly registered in England's and Wale's Law Society: (http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/contactus.law)

UK Office: (0161) 660 5598

They also mention they are leaders on their field of expertise "for many years". I take it they must be referring to the individual team members expertise as the corporate website itself is barely over a month old (February 2010).

http://fraserandward.com/index.html

"Fraser & WardFraser and Ward are a leading specialist in resolving problems for clients in the areas of both timeshare and holiday membership ownership.

With offices in both Spain and the Canary Islands, we have been one of the leaders in our field for many years.
Our team of advisers and consultants will be happy to advise you.

If you would like advice or information please contact us for further details or take a look at the services that we can offer."

All the above is factual and anyone can crosscheck the above information on their own.

I leave you and everyone else to draw your own conclusions given the facts we've posted.

As a last word of caution, we always advise to mistrust cold-calling out-of-the-blue offering legal services such as litigation or group actions.

Yours sincerely,

YES I WAS CONTACTED BY THEM TOO AND i AM GOING OVER TO TENERIFE NEXT WEEK FOR TWO WEEKS THE £250 WAS TO COVER EXPENSES THEY INCURRED AS THEY BOOKED US INTO AN APARTMENT/VILLA COMPLEX FOR ONE WEEEK BUT WE PHONED THEM AND GOT THEM TO BOOK US IN FOR AN EXTRA WEEK SO THAT AT LEAST WE WOULD GET A TWO WEEK HOLIDAY OUT OF IT. I THINK THEY ARE QUITE GENUINE AND WE WILL GET OUR RECLAIM MONEY BACK MINUS 10% BUT THEN THEY SHOULD GET 10% FOR DOING ALL THE HARD WORK.

Will let you know if it does work out.

We were also contacted and told by Fraser and Ward if we go to Tenerife we will get our money back on the alleged incorrectly registered Reclaim Certificate. We agreed to go. However, we've made indepth investigations since arraning this 6 months ago. We have contacted the Euro Consumers Associaton who have assured us this is a scam. We know someone who went out there and you are just given the hard sell to buy another timeshare or join a holiday club. We contacted the Reclaim Certificate Company direct. They have our correctly registered certificate and there is no such company as Reclaim Bank. The Certificate company also told us it is a scam. We are supposed to be going to Tenerife in October but have tried to phone, fax and email Fraser Ward just to check if they still have accommodation booked out for us. They cannot be contacted. The website they had has also been shut down. We are not going to Teneife now to find the accomodation we thought we were getting is not there. Even if it was and we went, we will not be shelling out any more more. We are now going to see if the Consumers Associaton or Trading Standards can do anything to get this sort of thing made aware to people that it is a scam.

been reading the comments on this company , we are in the process of arranging travel to Tenerife for November.
we are as confused and concerned if the journey to Tenerife will be to our advantage or is this going to be another cost effective ploy to try and get more money from us.
I have parted with 3 weeks Time share , £6.800 to join Incentive Leisure club and another £250 to Frazer and ward to discuss this matter in Tenerife.
they say that there is a new mug born every day , I guess that's me.
we were sold membership into Incentive Leisure Club , which we have never used , did not want in the first place and under the assumption that this was the way to sell our Time share .
Is there anyone got any solutions on how to stop these companies from causing vunerable peolpe like me from parting with their hard earned money?

Well we went and stayed at San Andraes/ Royal Tenerife Golf Club. The resort was a good standard as was the villa. About 4* i suspose. Facillities were good but car paking a real pain. A rep contacted us the morning after we arrived and met us no hard sell checked we had brought copies of paper work relating to ILG and Reclaim. They made a time the same rep picked us up and took us to a nearby bar bought us a cuppa and then claimed to be working for RCI points and that Fraser and Ward were just a marketing company no longer used by RCI each time i asked who they worked for they said RCI points after an hour the rep said she would take us to see the legal adviser there were 2 of them she said strangely she became ill on the way there and i ended up driving her there in the hire car. About 10minutes away a small office covered in RCI points adverts. Lots of talk about how little we could get back from reclaim, a load of talk about did we send the claim stubb back, did we know how to work out the return date taking account of public holidays in Gibraltar and that they used a computer to get it right. There was no real hard sell and i made it clear there was no chance i would go for their service. There was talk of a fund from the banks holding time share funds paying out in 2013 but you had to buy into RCI points for 36months never got to the how much stage. Sadly the couple in the room next to us were doing a deal and i head £18000 mentioned we left shortly afterwards. All i can say is we enjoyed our week in the sun thanks very much!!Fraser and Ward. My feelings are if you do your homework, ask some awkward questions and say no you will be fine. Pete

we have just come back from tenerife and yes it's a scam
5/11/10 told me if i bought 1500 rci points @ 5,995.00 pounds plus £150.00 maintainance for 3 years = £450.00
i would get my cash back from reclaim .
if i dont i would only get 2,500.00 if im lucky instead of 13,000.00 as promist by reclaim ,
no more money will i spend just to be scamed again
Stay clear if anyone cold calls you it will be a scam ,
think im going to talk to watch dog on the BBC

Paid Fraser and Ward £250 and went to Tenerife on the pretext of a Notary registering our Reclaim Certificate correctly. Attended meeting but it was a RCI salesperson trying to say that if we bought £9,000 of shares then we would not only get most of our money back but after 3 years we could sell our RCI shares back to the company less 12.5% fee. Have written to Fraser and Ward about this but definitely not holding my breath. Looks like another SCAM to me!!!!!!
