Default Is my mother's boyfriend entitled to inherit anything from her?

My mum lives in Spain with her boyfriend (he is Portuguese) although she has written a will leaving house to her 2 children and she is not married to this man can he inherit anything from the property as he has lived with her for nearly 2 years? What , if anything, will he be entitled to?

    Hello,

Under Spanish law he is not entitled to receive anything. However, it may happen that if he can prove he worked in the household for many years and all the while your Mum profited from this, he could claim a pension from her. This stems from recent case law that recognised the right to a pension to a woman who had been living with a man for many years and while he had a daily job she looked after the coupleĀ“s affairs, without any salary. It is however an exceptional situation so I dount that the Portuguese man could be entitled to any such claim.
