    Hi i have owned a house in murcia for 5years,been renovating inow want to move permanently. I am 60 and plan to live of savings till i get my pension will i be liable for any tax and sould i register in spain i have just under 70,000 and about 2,000 ayear income . Pedro

    Hola marta, i am a uk citizen and live in england i should say i d,ont want to transfer to much money yet at s uch a poor rate

    Dear Sir,

    On owning property in Spain you will be held liable to pay a series of property-related taxes such as:

    1. IBI tax (aking to UK's Council Tax)
    2. Garbage collection
    3. Income tax on property (fictional notion)

    Besides the above, if you spend more than 183 days a year in Spain you will become a fiscal resident being taxed on your worlwide income.
