    Default Can I remove from the deeds a co-owner who has gone missing?

    i bought a property with my brother a number of years ago off plan but my brother left home and has disapeared can you tell me is there any thing that i can do as no one seems to know where he is he may even have moved to china and has not paid any money towards property but is still on deeds

    Dear Mr Butler,

    No you cannot have him removed without following a legal procedure.

    This procedure involves he would have to be declared officially dead and then his beneficiaries would take over his estate.
