Hello,

I am a 27 year-old Peruvian. My father was a Spanish citizen from birth (he was born in Spain to Spanish parents, both of whom were also born in Spain to Spanish parents). When he was 15, he and his family moved to Peru, where he attained Peruvian citizenship and lived for the rest of his life. Am I considered Spanish by origin, even though he moved and and lived abroad for so many years? To my knowledge, he never renounced his Spanish citizenship, although he is deceased so I cannot confirm this.

If I am considered Spanish by origin, will I be able to claim Spanish citizenship and obtain a passport? Will there be a residency requirement?

Thanks!
