My Nan died April 2015, me and my children are due to inherit money from the sale of her house. The executor is another family member who will not communicate with us and we cannot contact directly and therefore we have only had a few emails from her solicitor (when we have pushed for information) in all of this time.
The house sale was completed in February this year and when I queried what was happening in May I was informed that it had gone to DWP for investigation and I had to just wait.

Does anyone know if it would have gone for investigation when probate was granted or when the house sale was completed?
How long will the DWP investigation take and is the Executor able to chase this?
Does her solicitor have any kind of responsibility to keep us more informed?

The lack of information in this is obviously causing frustration on my part, any help or advice is gratefully received.

Thanks,
Lisa
