Default Applying for Permanet Residency after Non-lucrative visa

Can I apply for permanent residency as a Filipino citizen, after 2 years of being in Spain under a non-lucrative visa which I applied for as a US citizen?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

As a Philippine national ( if you are Philippine by birth ), you are eligible for the Spanish Nationality after two years of legal residency in Spain.

Permanent residency can only be obtained after 5 years of legal residency.

If you wish that we study your particular case, please contact us by email.

    Thanks for the reply!

If I apply for Spanish Nationality, what happens to my US and/or Philippine citizenship?

Dual citizenship with the Phillippines is allowed. Not with the US however. You would need to give it up.

Hi Marta! So you can have Spanish Nationality, but not be a permanent resident? In practice, how does this effect an individual?
