Hey Patricia,

I am writing to you regarding my nationality confusion. I am 19 years old and my dad has got spanish passport recently. He has got an appointment with the registero civil in 6 months to apply for our family nationality (children under 20). I am living with my family, dependent on my father, and off course I will be included in the nationality application.
I am getting a job offer starting very soon . I was wondering If I start working, Would it effect my status later on when my dad applies for the nationality ? ( As currently I am dependent on him, would i be considered independent , and not eligible for spanish nationality application once i start working )
Would my working now! Would anyhow effect my status later on at the point when my dad applies through Opcion for my nationality ?

Dear Davis,

The fact that you start a job while you apply for the Spanish Nationality by option won´t interfere, as the main issue is that you are under 20 when you file the application.
