Hi,

My father was a Spanish citizen, but moved with his family to the United States when he was young and obtained his US citizenship in his twenties. I also believe that my grandmother has never renounced her Spanish citizenship, but I'm not too sure right now. My brother and I are both fluent in Spanish, and were interested in applying for Spanish citizenship by option, however we do not and have not ever lived in Spain(I am sixteen and he is eighteen). Is it possible to obtain citizenship without being residents, and if so, what documents are required? Is it also possible to keep our US citizenship?
