Getting a residency permit in Spain

Hi,

I was looking into buying a property in Spain, but i am an Egyptian national so getting a visit visa is not really easy. so my question is if i buy a property in Spain do i get a residency visa / Permit ?

Note that although the government is currently looking at a visa program whereby you automatically attain residency by purchasing property in Spain, it is still early days and no regulation has yet been released. We hope this should be in a few weeks.
