    Default Agent not Paying

    I have an apartment on the Costa Del Sol and I have it rented out through an agent (Crownleaf) however, there are long term renters of my apartment but no monies forthcoming from the agent.

    Do I have any rights to get money from my agent? We recently visited her and she told us that we were owed approx 2000 euros but still no money in my account. Is there anything I can do.

    Hello Veejay,

    You can certainly claim the unpaid rent, from whoever is responsible for the default. Firstly, you have to check with whom you have made the agreement; that is, directly with the tenant via an ordinary rental agreement or via an agreement with a rental agency that rents your property out to third parties. I recommend you to request a copy of the related documentation from your rental agency, including receipts of payments received, so you can start taking the corresponding legal action to recover the debt and evict the non- paying tenants.
