Default Paying IVA in spain on goods to be imported to UK

    Hi,

I am starting a new company importing spanish childrens clothes to the UK. I am about to register as self employed and would like to know if i have to pay IVA in spain? As a new company I do not have to pay VAT in the UK until the business reaches a certain threshold. Also would import taxes have to be paid?

    Thank you,

    Angela

    Hi Angela

If you are going to be acquiring merchandise in Spain in order to export it to the UK, you won't need to pay any taxes in Spain. Only in the UK. You will need to check with the Inland Revenue as to how the invoices should be issued.
