fathers estate

My wifes Father included some family members in his UK will. The will does not include 2 Spanish Properties which he owned in joint names with his new wife. Like many on here the new wife stopped father from seeing his family so we are unclear on many aspects.

We don't know, for instsnce, where these properties are but they were both mentioned at the funeral.

If the Spanish properties were owned in joint names (joint with new wife) should they be included in the Estate? They were investment properties and the living spouse has her home in the uk where she lives.
