I have contracts with 2 organisations namely 'Legal Advice Counsel' & 'First Legal Services' to take action against several holiday companies that had obtained deposits from me to sell 2 club Class holiday packages, which had never been refunded, nor any offers received. Despite being paid via Credit Card this did not assist in any way? In addition to the deposits, they assured me that they could also obtain the money that would have been obtained if the pacckages were sold. As you are aware both these companies LAC & FLS (First Elite SL)seem to have disappeared! Is there any point me trying to contact the lawyers noted on the contract, to ascertain whether they had actually been approached to carry out this legal work?. These companies were dealing with me in August-September last year>

I was also recently contacted by Legal Advice Counsel located in Malaga. They indicated that they could re-claim back money paid to a timeshare company and they would use a spanish Lawyer called Carlos de Miguel Olivares No Colegiado (License number): 831 Abogado can you tell me if he is a genuine lawyer and if so how can i get in touch with him. Thanking you in anticipation,

Dear Ron,

If you've signed a contract with a company in which a Spanish lawyer is to undertake a professional task you should contact him, of course, if the company is now non-responsive. After all you paid for this "legal" service.

Yours faithfully,

Dear David,

Mr Carlos de Miguel Olivares is indeed a genuine registered lawyer.

You can contact Malaga's Law Society (http://www.icamalaga.es/portalMalaga/printPortal.do?urlPagina=S015019001003/es_ES.html) and they will be able to give you his law firm's phone number.

Yours faithfully,

Further to your queries, we have specific threads on both:

Legal Advice Counsel (http://www.marbella-lawyers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=495)

First Legal Services (http://www.marbella-lawyers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=585)

Please browse as well the following thread which has a list of bogus Spanish law firms. Both of the above companies are included in the said list:

Public Warning.- Scammers passing themselves off as Spanish lawyers and law firms (http://www.marbella-lawyers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=382) - 13th March 2009
