my husband went for the interview of arraigo social with all the docs required. The lady who had to interview him said that u also need catalan certificate and u cannot be interviewed without that.my husband has castellano certificate and he can understand, speak and write it also.he also applied before for the arraigo social but his PCC got expired by the time he got his certificate of arraigo bczz they take more than 3 months now.we were not asked to provide it then.Is this a requirement now that u need to learn catalan as well?if not ,why didnt she cooperate?

Waitng for ur reply.

Hello Sibhejamal,

As I have not got the document in front of me I am unsure about what catalan certificate stands for, though I believe that you are talking about the informe de arraigo social where they indicate if your husband has been Integrated in the social environment and can speak Spanish. I have noticed that there is a section in the specific reoport application related to the fact that the applicant has knowledge of Catalan language. There was a new regulation issued in March this year: Instruccion 1/2012, 20th March (http://http://www20.gencat.cat/docs/bsf/03Ambits%20tematics/05Immigracio/14_informes_estrangeria/normativa/instruccio_castella.pdf)that establishes that those immigrants that require the said report must fill out that section possitively, as basics of Catalan is required from now on so the reports are considered for the Arraigo social application. That may the reason why the officer was not colleborating, as that section was maybe left blank by your husband.

Regards,
