Hi Patricia,

I am going to apply for Spanish nationality and one of the requirements on the Ministry website is to attach "Certificado de antecedentes penales del Registro Central de penados". Any information on how to get this?
Furthermore, it also says that "Puede sustituirse por la autorización de consulta al Ministerio de Justicia consignada en el modelo de solicitud".
Would appreciate your comments on this matter?

Here is the Ministry link: https://www.mjusticia.gob.es/cs/Satellite/Portal/es/ciudadanos/tramites-gestiones-personales/nacionalidad-residencia

Thank you and best regards,
David

Hello David

Usually, you apply for the electronic criminal records certificate via the link the Ministry of justice provides for that purpose: https://sede.mjusticia.gob.es/cs/Satellite/Sede/es/tramites/certificado-antecedentes, and then file it along with the nationality application.

Also, you can just tick the box that appears on the Spanish nationality application form whereby you allow the competent authorities to check the Spanish Registry of Convicts and Defaulters.

Hi Patricia,

Thanks for the help!

What is the best way to do?
For example, would separately applying and then attaching the document with the nationality application online could help in speeding up the process (or otherwise etc.)?

Thanks,
David
