Now please can you tell me.when you find the home you would like to buy.you use a spanish solicitor and notary.who take you on as a new client.you tell them of the house you would like to buy.and they tell you first they have to ask the local council .and land registry if the house and land you want to buy is legal in every way.they also check while this is going on that the owner has paid up for everything ,electricity.council tax.ant mortgage..now if the council and land registry cannot find anything illegal about the home you want to buy.the solicitor/notary,can sign and stamp the property deeds.but if their is any illegal about the property.house or land.the solicitor/notary by spanish law must tell you.and must not sign and stamp the property deeds.as this would make the said property legal.this is what i have been told by one spanish solicitor.but some others a different story that they don't need to tell you.and they can sign and stamp the property deeds even if they are illegal.which is right.
